The Lie Songtext

Tonight a child came to life
And his parents were proud in this night of july.
Yeah, proud, his dad held him up
Looking deep in the eyes of an exhausted wife.
Who would've thought the first thing he said to his son
Was the biggest lie, the biggest lie.
He promised him a clear future away from the monsters
So he'll never suffer, he'll never suffer.

"Oh son, welcome to life,
It's a long bright trip, you'll never be sick.
Yeah we're gonna be a united family you'll see,
Taking care of each other, away from the fire."
And that's were it begins with the biggest lie,
A cradle tale repeated a million times.
Cause Dad he loves the bottle and Mom's into needles,
So they never suffer, never suffer.

The lie's been told once again,
Like a millennial obsession, the bad seed remains.
It's becomes easier each time,
We all learn it from the start, learn it from the start,
We all, we all dance with the lie.

Today a man came home
With a bunch of flowers for his baby lover,
Hoping that the perfume of so many roses
Would cover the smell of his last excess.
He said: "Oh dear, I love you so,
For better, for worse, until the end of time."
And so it continues with the biggest lie,
So she won't suffer, no she won't suffer.

The lie's been told once again,
Like a millennial obsession, the bad seed remains.
It's becomes easier each time,
We all learn it from the start, learn it from the start,
We all, we all dance with the lie.
