Thieves Songtext

Down here by the river,

Where the thieves sailed in,

Thought we were different,

But we were blind from the beginning.

Because I fall back into this collective story,

Where indifference is key.

All minds set on profits,

If there's a light it'll shine bright,

Shine for the lucky ones.

A grave that we're digging,

For sympathy in its coffin.

All hail lawful sinners,

Liberation as a business.

Are you sure of your ideals,

Of obligations and virtue,

In your empire of blood.

Is the throne like you expected,

Grab your crown before we take it,

Who are you to start a war?

Down here by the river,

We never tried to do good.

A tempest of regretting,

Acts we never understood.

If I pass the lit torch,

It won’t make much difference.

Balancing on a thin line,

The change comes before us,

Revealing thieves in our minds.
