Night Lights Songtext
Year after year, I’m still stuck here.
I feel so far, but near.
So I’ll wait until I see the brighter days.
There’s nothing left to say.
I’ve put in all my heart and soul, but that still can’t change fate.
The best I can do is just hope.
For now, I guess I’ll cope knowing that we’re on our own and have nowhere to go.
But I’ll keep my head high, woah.
Cause I’ve still got time, woah.
We’ve made it farther than the rest of these kids.
The world they live in, isn’t real, just pretend.
I’ve seen what happens when we reach the end.
Far too beat up to mend from these dreams we’ve dreamt.
But I won’t give up, cause it’s all I want.
I trust it won’t be long
Since age six, the first time I picked up drum sticks.
I found out why I live. It all started to make more sense.
I had found music.
Ever since then I have tried to do this my whole life.
I don’t care how much I make, cause it’s worth the fight.
But I’ll keep my head high, woah.
Cause I’ve still got time, woah.
We’ve made it farther than the rest of these kids.
The world they live in, isn’t real, just pretend.
I’ve seen what happens when we reach the end.
Far too beat up to mend from all these dreams we’ve dreamt.
And I will turn out these night lights, save it for bright light one day at a time.
(But I’ll keep my head high, woah)
(Cause I’ve still got time, woah)
I feel so far, but near.
So I’ll wait until I see the brighter days.
There’s nothing left to say.
I’ve put in all my heart and soul, but that still can’t change fate.
The best I can do is just hope.
