Mountains

It?s not far, he said.
Keep climbing, he said.
The first steps are the hardest, I?m right behind you,
I?ll hold your hand, he said.

And as I mounted I was filled with lightness
(the lack of oxygen, I suppose),
I revelled in the softness of his guidance
(his hands were hot and sweaty I now recall).
