Never have I lost
So dearly in my dreams,
Holding onto what
You must have given me:

A place as placid as teardrops
Falling,
Lonely and solid and true.
Never forgotten, never remembered,
Always thereafter blue.

Your heart told me of towers,
Neverending windows and
Doors;
Your mind held compassion
To which I never understood.

Now marked by a singing meadow,
Broken by a falling petal,

Cowering with ease under
Darkly numbered trees.

Never have I lost so
Sadly in a dream,
The tower of the love
We had, I see,
and
Under it the darkly
Numbered trees, watching
As I fell, weightless,

Landing on my softly
Sheltered bed.

If there is something I
Remember you for,
It would be the manner
In which you taught me
To love.
