THe Monster Songtext

His home deep in a cave

A sign on the door we tried hard to ignore; we were brave

The sound deep when the wind blows

Whispering into our ears telling us not to go

His voice comes from within

Questioning asking us, just why wed let our selves in.

We struggled hard to respond, we were there to see him

Its time we went back to where we both began

Dont tell our parents, they wont understand

Just take my hand fly with me. Promise me well still be friends.

This paper I wear on my head like a crown,

To reign over rain and the dark forest ground

The trees would sing symphonies, if only they could make a sound

These Angry clouds roll on

Two eyes that shine through the dark

Lit between failed attempts, matches that wont yield a spark

A thought passed through my head

Remembering what that old letter of warning had said.:

Looks are deceiving, trust no one lest you meet your end

Its time we went back to where we both began

Dont tell our parents, they wont understand

Just take my hand fly with me. Promise me well still be friends.

This paper I wear on my head like a crown,

To reign over rain and the dark forest ground

The trees would sing symphonies but dont make a sound

The fog has been marching its taking the town

Were digging a hole and were building a mound

Of treasure to bury next time were around

The ship has sailed leaving us stranded ashore,

and I cant say Ive asked for anything more

My eyes Shut, my heart wide open (repeated 8 times)

The ship has sailed leaving us stranded ashore,

and I cant say Ive asked for anything more.
