Legitimate Smiles

I walk the streets avoiding cynical trial

My foot strikes heart beats into clinical tiles

I sit and my thoughts are on you for awhile

Cause when you smile, you smile legitimate smiles



We sit in waiting on the radio

Each day feeds growing sentiment of hope

The static breaks and all thats heard is snow

And were ecstatic, for that song we know.



Maybe I just need a friend

Or maybe I just need this pen

Until our manifestos words meet

I think I can wait till then.



This time it feels like I am losing the fight

When Im alone here with the angry night

My skin seems thinner, maybe its the light

The moon my one true friends just being polite.
