Back to Life Songtext

The days don't wait for me,
I used to have a lifetime.
I could do anything,
I've lost my will,
Lost my way,
This isn't easy for me.
I can feel the years catching up with my body,
It scares me,
Wears me out,
I've got to slow this down,
The only way that I know how,
Involves a car, some clothes, and a trusty old guitar.

Out on the ocean,
Asleep in the sand,
Watching the sun go down with the soundtrack in my hands.
The road is waiting to change my state of mind,
A ride down the 101 could bring me back to life.

I'll watch the trees swaying in the wind,
Feel the weather change the colour of my skin.
Like slipping into a brand new costume,
No alarms to wake me,
No places I have to be,
Where time is just a number.
It's meaningless to me,
For a moments peace without a care,
On a road to nowhere.
I'll visit friends,
The ones that I hold dear,
And reminisce about the days of our younger years.
They will find me,
Remind me,
I haven't wasted any time.
And there is so much more before I leave this life,
Escape tomorrow on my journey down the coast.

Out on the ocean,
Asleep in the sand,
Watching the sun go down with the soundtrack in my hands.
The road is waiting to change my state of mind,
A ride down the 101 could bring me back to life.

Out on the ocean,
Asleep in the sand,
Watching the sun go down with the soundtrack in my hands.
The road is waiting to change my state of mind,
A ride down the 101 could bring me back to life.
