evil walks a normal road
he wears an empty face im told
he walks around and stands in crowds
a stone in the midst of clouds

he lays an empty hand upon
the table you are lying on
and just before you close your eyes
he speaks a normal calm surprise

he says, "you can win"

he laid his armour on a child
it was his last act before he died
the child grew up in angry air
but evil knew what will was there

the will to will a man in shame
to rise to his knees again
for evil is in charge of lights
and it's like this when he does it right
