Crawling Towards the Light

That night as I coursed through
This country’s blackened veins
I sensed His plan for me
I understood His pain

On that country lane
The seraph sacrifice
The child that Death would gain

The impact transformed me
I crawled towards the only light
But He was waiting there
To tell me I would live another night

So I’m back from the Other Side
The world’s so hard to bear
Because He’s tainted me
I can feel him the air

But in my dreams
There’s a world inside
Where I escape
Where no one dies
It’s paradise
The perfect suburb lives
The pets, the children
The perfect suburb smiles
Where no one fades away

I wasn’t always like this
I used to be awake
I didn’t feel so dark
This life didn’t feel so fake

I am fading now
I’ll slowly waste away
Inside the latent wish
He’d have taken me that day
