Cold

It was a cold day
In a cold town
Where my cold heart
Made some cold sounds

And my cold eyes
Cried those cold tears,
With my blue lips
I drank some cold beers.

Then the snow fell
And my toes froze,
And my tongue swelled
Like this blue note.

With my cold feet
I walked this big park
And found a tall tree
With some blue bark.

And a blue bird
Sang a sad song,
Yeah i felt real blue
When i sang along.

Then a blue girl
Walked right by
I guess she picked up
On my black eye

Cause she offered
Me a warm hug
And some coffee
In a blue mug.

I said, "Why thank you
But you'll have to wait
Until my cold heart
Meets its blue fate."
