Being Born (Is Going Blind)

I never asked to be thrown
Into this strange hole
Cut away from the void
Night fell as soon as I arrived
Serenity was deprived
Shackles were deployed

I was at my best
At the time
When no one
Were watching
I could see
Eternally

But now
I’m trapped
Inside this maze

I have to find a way
To turn this night to day
Let go of mortal rope
Knowledge coming back to me
Can crush the fallacy
That all you need is hope

I used to be blessed
Devoid of a shell
That slowly is rotting
But blindness
Came over me

A massive effort
Can bring me home

I have always known
That I don’t belong here
Ordeals have shown
I should reside far from here
Inside the living night

In the time before breathing
I didn’t know I was leaving
But now I must return!

I have to crush this maze
With a certain prestige
So I can venture back
And take my place beneath.
