Truth Will Rise

It seemed I always knew
A test of faith would see this through
It appears I couldn't see
All I knew could never be

Lost and found, I look around
no one else can hear the sound
of the anger, hatred I've created
of the silent screams that won't be heard

Shadows emerging as figures are forming
Nightmares and bad thoughts are quickly controlling
all of the things which kept me together
I'm praying and asking that it won't last forever

Longing for compassion
expectations weren't met
descend into the darkness
I'll forgive but not forget

When and where and how am I
to find the strength to try?
