My Father's House

All in my father's house
I took a turn for the worst
I found myself outside
There was no door back to the warmth I had

He turned away from my face
Took up his place on the back porch

There was a time you had a heart for me

He didn't say anything
I saw him reach for his pipe
We sat together then
Sky was on fire, it burned into night
