Burning leaves and peeling tires
Filling the autumn air with life
The decay is overshadowed
Hot sun delays winter strife
Cool breeze only at night
Offset by the busy lights

Going out only to go in
Enjoying the darkness of blue
Striking beauty alone for a second
Even then it's all too long
“Care for some company?”
The moment never comes

Because it's rotting, the world goes
Because of rotting, the world's restored
What once was old is now new
Everything is shifted around
Nothing remains the same
And yet that barely matters

Change is old, around forever
