if i were gone tomorrow
would i have left you with something to say
would regrete sink in, is the past put aside
is it better this way or am i leading my mind
because it just seems like you're holding it in
it's a complex situation
the second i forget is the second i remember
a voice inside is telling me not to bring it up
but it's so damn hard to see past those eyes

i saw something that night
i tried not to accept it
but i know it's true, i saw me and you
i saw that look, deep inside
and eyes don't lie....

so i'm thrown for a loop
but i think it's ok
i just tell myself that
we all have to feel this way
this will never be over no matter what we both say

i just wish we didn't have to live this way

it was a double number
love cut us down, and turned us back to back

i know we're both stronger
and i know we both learned

but it's so damn hard to see past those eyes
