Willow Songtext

Underneath a willow tree beside a winsome pond,
I felt the peace that closeness brings while nestled in your lap.
While you're away I'm forced to learn absence makes the heart fond.
I wish there was a simple way for me to bridge this gap.

When I first laid eyes on you I gasped in awe and wonder.
It'd been so long since I had seen such beauty grace the earth.
Then you smiled and took with you the fruits of my hearts plunder.
And when I heard you laugh I knew you'd never know your worth.

Although you leave, it seems to me farewell's cannot be said.
A part of me goes with you now. I can't quite say goodbye.
And I'd rather spot a willow tree and see you in my head,
Than have to live a thousand years without your face and die.

Underneath a willow tree beside a winsome pond,
I felt the peace that closeness brings while nestled in your lap.
While you're away I'm forced to learn absence makes the heart fond.
I wish there was a simple way for me to bridge this gap.

Bring me back...
