Resolution Day

all of my medicine's gone
& i'm afraid it won't be long
before i turn to ashes
on this resolution day
these eyes don't see so straight
& these legs won't bear my weight
how will i spend my days alone?
should i call you in the morning
when the sun breaks on my bed
i can't wait until you rise & shine
so rise & shine now
these days have run us down
into the gray & brown
but i feel much better now, i' home
