I left my button hanging by a thread
too attached to pull it off,
too lazy to sew it back on
so I let it dangle, swaying in the wind
swaying like decisions,
changing my mind while my mind is changed
so I wrote a song just to pass the time
each note syncopated with the ticking of the clock
well, as I wrote, I lost track of time
