Parrot From America Songtext

VERSE 1
I am a parrot from America,
I was born there a long time ago.
I couldn't speak then, but parrot mama said:
"He'll learn as time goes by."
And that I can oh fallery, oh fallera.
If anybody asks me where I'm from,
I answer: "Oh fallery, oh fallera,
I am a parrot from America."
VERSE 2
In the woods I lived till I was eight years old.
I was then caught by a bird-catcher.
He taught me how to speak so that all the people understand,
and taught me many nice songs.
And that I can, oh fallery, oh fallera.
If anybody asks me who I've learnt them from.
Then I answer: "Oh fallery, oh fallera,
from the bird-catcher man in America."
VERSE 3
One day a skipper came and bought me,
and I had a place in the skipper's big pocket.
We sailed across the sea but in the end I ran away,
and afterwards I came here to Kardemomme.
And here I am oh fallery, oh fallera.
And in this town I like it very much.
And everybody knows oh fallery, oh fallera
that I am the parrot from America.
And here I am oh fallery, oh fallera.
And in this town I like it very much.
And everybody knows oh fallery, oh fallera
that I am the parrot from America.
