Shadows On The Ceiling Songtext

In the misty evening,
the halo from a streetlight illuminates her face.
Her hands are curled gently 'round the edges of her shirtsleeve. She walks with quiet grace.

I don't think she's seen me. How can I know for sure?
All I know is I'm thinking I'll wait right here for her.

Are you real?
Is it true?
Is it possible you notice me notice you?

Later on I'm kneeling
while the shadows on my ceiling mirror what I've seen.
Reflecting in this state half asleep and half awake I'm sure she's just a dream.

Will I ever see her again if I linger there for days?
And if she walks up to me what will I ever say...

Are you real?
Is it true?
Is it possible you notice me notice you?

In the misty evening,
the halo from a streetlight illuminates her face.
Her hands are curled gently 'round the edges of her shirtsleeve. She walks with quiet grace.

The curving of her footsteps is leading her away
But I'm still left hoping she'll walk by me again.

Are you real?
Is it true?
Is it possible you notice me notice you?
