Colour Us Canadian Songtext
We didn't think very hard about where we came from. And how that in itself could do us so wrong. We didn't bother to learn anyone else's language. You don't need many words for a drunk conversation. As we traveled through each foreign land. We heard their jokes, and we wanted in. So, we called ourselves Canadian. Yeah, colour us Canadian. We're all stopped at the border. No one's getting through. This passport once was golden - guess that's no longer true. It wasn't drugs or cash - all that used to matter. It was a simple stare, and we knew not to feel flattered. When did it all go wrong? I'd like to know. We'd call ourselves Canadian - anything but American.
