Tin can Songtext

Tin Can (M. McDonald)

I was sitting on the couch at the bar admission party

I was worried if I was doing anything that you would think was arty

So I gauged my conversation I put myself in your place

It seemed like a bank you know I was trying to save my face

I guess I'm the customer and you are the manager

You count the interest you count the days

Cuz it's inside your office where you keep your calendar

You came right out from left field you caught me on my blind side

You blamed me cuz I never ever thought of committing suicide

You brought in the steamroller and you tried to bury me

Now you're limping from the weight of it where do you get your ecstasy

You put the writing on the wall I helped you pick the colors

You laugh when I get discipline even right in front of my mother

Well the curtains in your bedroom have never really been parted

We're moving really fast now just look at what you started

I listened to your music you know I listened very well

I listened to everything that you wanted to tell

We been through many hard roads nothing to take serious

I was with you when you were losing, you were with me when I was delirious

We made our reservations and we bought our tickets

We set up the tin can which one of us is gonna kick it

We're moving like a freight train, we're solid as a broken pickup truck

I don't want to say goodbye you don't want to wish me luck
