sunny skies and fireflies
you smell just like the summertime
a fireside a starry night in june

and i don't mind mosquito bites
my sunburned skin or tired eyes
i played my cards and lost the fight for you

if seasons change the state your in
from freckled face to pale and thin
then why on earth would i begin
to try when i wake up again

you cried inside and then you lied
and said that it would be alright
but spring had left and summer died too soon

and i don't find the nursery rhymes
