God, What Am I Doing Here? Songtext

The cold wind from space
Is blowing in my face
God, what am I doing here?
I wish I was a cat,
Then I'd know where it's at
Sure has been a funny year

The dripping of the faucet
Puts a rhythm to my night
I walk around in time with it,
My footprints would be white
I touch my body, seeing
I'm still a human being
God, what am I doing here?

The shoreline disappears,
The view goes on for years
Time is like an endless sea,
I row my little boat,
And try to stay afloat
Dreaming of eternity

The music all around me
Puts an order to my day
But I am rarely high enough
To see the world that way
Oh please give me a sign.
Is all this nonsense mine?
God, what am I doing here?
