Crooked Songtext
Written by Pat Book
Performed by Heroes Wear Helmets
Marion sits alone in her small, cramped apartment
she's trying to figure out a way
to keep her small, cramped life all in order
she hardly ever sees the light of day
She is dreaming of a better life without it
she has so many fears
the hands that once held a life so tenderly
can't even hold back the tears
Marion sits and stares at her pen and paper
thinks of possibilities
her hands don't work the same as they used to
because of this disease
They haven't figured out her condition
and they probably never will
she's slowly descending into perdition
and can't pay the doctor's bills
She is dreaming of a better life without it
she has so many fears
the hands that once held a life so tenderly
can't even hold back the tears
She sits in silence and traces old pictures
from when she was someone's wife
her watercolours reflect the sadness
that envelopes her life
