my lady waits behind the door
for lovers calling out amour
the door was closed to men that came before you
then you came, you called her down
you broke the lock without a sound
now you sing her every breath that fills you
and you can walk her down to the sea
and you can pull her out of me
my lady walked into the storm
she traded blood for lovers scorn
the horse that ran as life before it threw you
as quiet as she needs to be
the moon to keep her company
and under it she died before she knew you

her wings are torn but still in place
