Rooms In The Dark Songtext

All the jobs in the world are just crossword puzzles
Keeping us busy, distracting us from sparks
That could happen in love with some swirling
Notes from the keys, the ones we've been missing

Some kind of life we all want
Don't know how you got it
We think you might be lying
Pretending not to love it - you say it's so hard
Our tired brains are ready for sleeping
But fingers still typing hoping to reach you, you know
Nothing else was done today!
Smiling and lying might help me
Have to learn to be everywhere in the world at the
Same time... and still alive

All the sleep in the world is some kind of joke
Keeping us busy, reminding us -
Oh we can only do so much before crashing down
Into some new scene from a dream
From this life we all want but couldn't handle anyway
In spare time we'll take small steps
We'll take small steps in circles all day
And fight over jobs moving your lawns and
Trimming your hedges, children of privilege you know
Nothing else was done today!
Once again you've taken my time away
Have to learn to be everywhere in the world at the
Same time and doing fine...
God, what a beautiful face you have
Hold your umbrella above us
We're venturing out
On the highways and sidewalks into the towns
And the darkest of rooms in the dark
