Phantom Faces

all this time spent
running in circles, honing my radar like a bat
always halfway in between
"this is isn't really happening" and "I'm past this now"

phantom faces at my door, I don't want you around here anymore
still you come and waste my time
filling spaces in my mind
is it mine or is it yours

please, please believe
I won't ever forget but I just want you to leave
why can't you stay, just stay away
you're with me every day now, every day now

always dreaming of some opportunity left unexplored
a secret passage in the dark
always listening behind a lock
holding my breath

trying to concept the vague impossibility
that there is no solution to this confusion
