A Lesson In Futility

all our lies and the dream we hide
they fester like diseases in the back of our minds
until we finally lose control
'cuz I have been replaced
by a million mornings afterwards
we wipe these thoughts away
the candle's burnt at both ends and there's nothing left between
hope I can rip away the wax and wake up from this dream
cover up
we've gotta dull ourselves together
because we cut just like a knife
in the night
searching for someone to tell us we're alright
