One Reason Only

Open the door to life unscripted.
There are no pens here--only memories (but they make us who we are).
I hope I find the place in my heart that shows me how to love.
Then I can go to sleep knowing that it's beating--and beating for one reason.
When I believe will I write it on my heart?
When I confess will I wear it on my sleeve?
I can't pretend--I'm the man I never wanted to be.
But I can't give up--there's still hope for me.
Sometimes in life we wonder who we are.
We try to erase the painful memories.
