The Lure Songtext
It happened once again today
As I read the morning page
The words began to fade away
I sensed my body losing weight
Then I could no longer feel my toes upon the floor
And this is how you brought me to your door
I ask of you one simple thing
Not much to get upset about
You don't have to invite me in
Just tell me how to get you out
You're running circles in my head so much it makes me sore
And this is how you brought me to your door
You are in my blood like a disease without a cure
And if my heart should overflow, would you help me to shore?
If I'm the trout swimming about, then you must be the lure
And this is how you brought me to your door
As I read the morning page
The words began to fade away
I sensed my body losing weight
Then I could no longer feel my toes upon the floor
And this is how you brought me to your door
I ask of you one simple thing
Not much to get upset about
You don't have to invite me in
Just tell me how to get you out
You're running circles in my head so much it makes me sore
And this is how you brought me to your door
You are in my blood like a disease without a cure
And if my heart should overflow, would you help me to shore?
If I'm the trout swimming about, then you must be the lure
And this is how you brought me to your door
