For A Friend Songtext

I've painted black and white pictures for the better half of time
Wound up burning holes in colors of a different kind
They came back with a vengeance, that's when I gave it up
Too tired to get my point across, I had more than enough

Then you came along one day, as my shelter from the storm
A quick and sudden change from the demons in the norm
With your long brown hair, and your blue-green eyes
You saved me from myself, and a headful of lies

You're the best friend I've ever had, and I'm not afraid to say
That I love you, and I hope everything will always be this way
And should we ever part, I'll keep a place inside my heart
Where you can always return, if you want to make a new start

It's the least that I can do, for somebody like you
