Beer Truck Driver Songtext
I want to be a beer truck driver
I want to see that all the beer inside her
Safely makes it to its destination
I want to be a beer truck driving sensation
When I was only a child I was riding the bus to school
I saw a terrible accident on the side of the road
and the memory haunts me still
A big old truck that was full of suds
had passed over on its side
There were bottles broken all over the street
there were very few left inside
A river of beer it was flowing right down County Lane
It foamed down into the gutter and down the sidewalk drain
As the bus slowly passed the scene of the accident
I pressed my face to the school bus window
and to myself I said
Well I grew up with the rules of the road
and my goals that seemed so clear
I learned that everything that is in back of me
may be closer than it appears
I was on a mission to save the folks
who needed a cold beer
After a long hot day with little pay
I would be right there for you
I went down to beer truck driving school
Like the man at the plant he told me to
He said look me up when you get class 4
and I'll see what I can do for you
When I die many years from now
I want all the beer drinkers to somehow
Remember their frosty bottle or can
that appeared there in their hand
I want everybody to raise their bottle of beer and say to me
To all the eighteen wheel chariots
and all the beer driving patriots
Because without them we wouldn't even have a name
because beer drinking is our game
Beer truck drivers won't you give them a hand
and let me hear it again
I want to be a beer truck driver
I want to see that all the beer inside her
Safely makes it to its destination
I want to be a beer truck driving sensation
When I was only a child I was riding the bus to school
I saw a terrible accident on the side of the road
