My brave little soldier girl
You'll never see her cry
Carefully coded actions
And no one here knows why
She drifts into sleeplessness
As the sun begins to rise
And the eyes that close so gently
Have forgotten how to cry

With eyes so strong
She never knew
Those eyes had been
Made black and blue

She'll blame herself for her bruises
Her worn out, tired excuses
While all the while she chooses
To die a little more
