Latin Root of Fun Songtext

take anything; i'll divert my eyes.
do anything; i'll divert my eyes.
just don't take away the distractions that attract my eyes.
war has been waged by an unelected leader under false pretense with suspect motivations, but it seems like no one is paying attention.

instead they're up in arms at a gladiator scandal.
maybe they'll sign a petition to replace an over-spender with another thieving liar, but mostly they'll just ignore that life could be better if
they'd forget about the gladiators and feed the emperor to the lions.

the circus tent enables, through inattentive consent, the actions of corruption
that slide right off our backs, but we'll die for entertainment as long as we
get crumbs of bread.

we'll focus all our energy on combative entertainment, energy better spent confronting important issues of how our lives are wasted supporting ruling classes and the inequalities that allow them to exist.

the lions in the circus aren't being tamed by handlers, the lions are taming us,
because, truly, we're so thankful for our privileges that we trade our
freedom for them and never even realize it.

the lions are taming us and we're too tame to even care.
